Some pictures for those who could not make it. Much fun was had, nobody fell over from heat exhaustion thanks to Mistress Mahin, kids were in boffer and shooting archery, and I got a taste of rapier. Tasted good too. I think I'd like to try it more.
And the day board? oh yeah. I wore my new uppers....and was quickly and painfully reminded to NOT try to eat like one who has real teeth. heheheh

One pinch spot on the uppers, no glue and wow. Taking a little getting used to.
The bottoms? Probably need more taken off the back....but it'll take me some getting used to the whole glue thing on the bottoms...hehehe....
And no gagging. That's the big thing.

Aunt Janet...watch yer mail :) I'm mailing a scan tomorrow since I couldn't take a picture of it today.
And here's hoping I finally get my car on the road this week (for rainy days and shopping and other stuff) and 8 miles of riding is looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong when one hasn't ridden that far in many manymanymany moons.

Well. First real chance to play with my new nibs that I've had for nearly three months now hehehehe....and have a scroll to do for a local award. whee! Shared the wordsmithing, and will work on the practicing this week somehow. Won't be able to work on the scroll here, there's no room. Yet. It'll be a few weeks before I could do any serious calligraphy practice here.
Singing was fun....I was a little flat here and there because of the sinuses...but not too bad.
Tomorrow another fitting of the toothies...yay! Hopefully the last one. I hope the buses I need have working ac tomorrow...*sigh*
Ah well. Off to bed.

And I've been offline for the last couple of weeks getting things together to move and then I got sick last week. Uh, no, I have no time for this but apparently others had different ideas. Wednesday I woke up feeling naaaasty, head spinning, stomach upset, ears hurt, throat dry and sore, hard to breath, sinuses hurt, off to work anyway on the bike.
Two hours after starting work, I left.
By 9 pm I was in the ER. fluid in lungs but not showing on the X-ray, nasty stuffed sinuses, fluid in the inner ear, feaver, productive cough with lovely green stuff....guess who got a few days outta work?
I sounded like a frog at best and did a really good impression of Lurch.
Aside from doing waaaaaaaaaaay too much moving about during this move (and lifting when I shouldn't have), I'm still dizzy (hush ya'll) but on the mend.
Now to go play catch up.

this evening. Shortly after finishing my dinner, I get a phone call from the neighbor telling me there are two people there who really want to see me. Brain being on dinner-happy and not thinking straight is like yeah right.
Then I hear this male voice.
And a female voice.
And I KNOW these voices but cannot place them with faces at that moment...ok, come over here, much easier.
Door knocks and when it's opened I am VERY much surprised to see two people I haven't seen in over a year!!! WHEE!!! There were many hugs and smiles and happyjoyjoy to last me for a few days!
*happiness*
And I have a current project that is almost finished going to be displayed this weekend...too bad the person I started it for can't wear it since he's stopped lifting and lugging around 75+ pounds a day of dough mix....hehehehehe
But it WILL get finished.
hmmm....maybe this winter I should get the baroness dressed in the wool gown and put HER in the display area....*darlh*

But it's bearable. If I didn't know any better I'd SWEAR there were nerve endings in those two teeth.
On the upside, I had the denture impressions taken today, and next week a bite check....I should be eating normally (or damn close to it) before the end of June.
I have headache and jawache so I think I'm gonna go lay down.

I got this tonight in my email and snickered. Yes, I'm up late watching movies. Got to watch BeoWolf. Neat movie.
If you need a good laugh, try reading through these children's science exam answers
Q: Name the four seasons.
A: Salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar.
Q: Explain one of the processes by which water can be made safe to drink.
A: Flirtation makes water safe to drink because it removes large pollutants like grit, sand, dead sheep and canoeists.
Q: How is dew formed?
A: The sun shines down on the leaves and makes them perspire.
Q: How can you delay milk turning sour? (brilliant, love this!)
A: Keep it in the cow.
Q: What causes the tides in the oceans?
A: The tides are a fight between the Earth and the Moon. All water tends to flow towards the moon, because there is no water on the moon, and nature hates a vacuum. I forget where the sun joins in this fight.
Q: What are steroids?
A: Things for keeping carpets still on the stairs.
Q: What happens to your body as you age?
A: When you get old, so do your bowels and you get intercontinental.
Q: What happens to a boy when he reaches puberty?
A: He says good-bye to his boyhood and looks forward to his adultery
Q: Name a major disease associated with cigarettes.
A: Premature death.
Q: How are the main parts of the body categorized? ( e.g., abdomen)
A: The body is consisted into three parts -- the brainium, the borax and the abdominal cavity. The brainium contains the brain; the borax contains the heart and lungs, and the abdominal cavity contains the five bowels A, E, I, O, and U.
Q: What is the fibula?
A: A small lie.
Q: What does 'varicose' mean? (I do love this one...)
A: Nearby.
Q: Give the meaning of the term 'Caesarian Section.'
A: The Caesarian Section is a district in Rome
Q: What does the word 'benign' mean?'
A: Benign is what you will be after you be eight.

I spoke to my son tonight...well, I spoke and he mumbled around the swelling of his jaw. No, he didn't get into a fight, he had oral surgery done. They took a piece of his jaw and stuck in in the front of his upper jaw where his four front teeth are missing in preparation for implants.
He's got a whopper of a headache, his jaw hurts like the dickens....I was nice and didn't make him laugh...co-worker's have the baby for the night. He says his head looks like a pumpkin.
The rest of the story....he's filed for divorce but the papers haven't been served on K, and he suspects she's called her parental units and they've come to get her and take her BACK to GA. He's going to call his lawyer on Monday with his suspicions and see if papers can be also sent there.
Gave him some things to think about and keep him on his toes, and sent him packing off to bed.
Which is a good idea....

Not even two years.
Seems that my d-i-l has decided to leave her husband and her son. For someone else, no responsibility and partying. And it's breaking my heart that he is going through this with that little boy. So much to go through by himself and I'm up here. She apparently admitted things to him that is making him hire a lawyer....and start the paperwork to get full legal and physical custody of little A.
Hearing him try to talk about her his voice is cracking and he's trying hard not to cry. I so wish I could be there to let him do just that. But I also know he'll be ok. Dunno about mom yet....*half-assedgrin*
Ok, so the empty-nest is apparent at the moment. lemme whimper. But he's got more support than I ever did trying to raise 3 kids (and at one point 5) by myself. Listening to him tonight made me more proud of him than ever before, because I figured somehow I did something right with all my screwing up over the years.
I never thought she would have the brainlessness to do this. She had a job for three days that paid well and she quit. She didn't like working with people who were farther along in their careers so she quit....I'M still trying to wrap my head around that one...he supported her, gave her damn near everything she wanted, yeah they argued....who doesn't have disagreements? She was mad because C made her finish things...like adult education, her driver's test, her CNA certification....he made her be an adult and a mom. And she apparently resented that even tho she wanted all that. *scratches head*
*sigh* But I can still be Mom and his support even if I'm over 900 miles away. I won't tell you some of the other stuff he said. He did promise not to do anything.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Blanket party anyone?

And the gift she be drying out nicely after taking the dead fungus and stuff off...first sanding shall happen....then more drying

Ha. Ended up replacing the chain for a whopping $11. The bike guy agreed that the chain that was on there wasn't the right one for it and that's pretty much what I figured. This morning, I put the bike upside down and promptly threaded the shimano derauiller backwards. *laugh* muttered something about crs and how long it had been since I'd done this...got it right. Then discovered as I grabbed the two ends that I had the chain on upside down. *sigh*
It's on. And it shifts better than with the old chain. Later it goes on a road test.
